SCHOLARSHIP

The purpose of the Valex Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program is to award a one-year scholarship to two students who possess academic potential and a desire to succeed.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be considered for this scholarship, the applicant must:

• Be a member of the credit union with their own savings account & be in good standing
• Have been a member for at least six months prior to the date of application and have had at
• least one transaction in the last six months.
• Be accepted to attend an accredited college, university, vocational school, or technical school
• in the Fall of 2024 as a full-time undergraduate student (12 semester hours) or master’s level
• student (9 semester hours)
• Have maintained a cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher based on up-to-date transcripts through
• December or complete college transcript
• Complete an application and personal essay
• Not have been previously awarded this scholarship
• Applications submitted by the family of a Valex Federal Credit Union employee or Board
• Member will be considered if there are no other eligible applicants.

SELECTION:

Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a committee selected by the Valex Federal Credit Union Board of Directors. Two Winners will be selected.

AWARD:

The Scholarship Committee will award a total of up to $2,000 in scholarships. Each of the two recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Scholarship money can be used for any school-related expenses. Scholarships will be deposited directly into the recipient’s Valex account when proof of registration has been provided to the Valex Federal Credit Union CEO. Deposits will be posted in August.
